Landfill Sales Specialist

Job Description:
GeoShack is actively seeking two competitive, self – motivated Outside Sales Representatives to sell to the landfill industry throughout North Eastren United States and Canada. The Sales Specialist’s primary role is to identify and close business opportunities to support overall revenue objectives. In this key sales role, the successful candidate must be highly motivated and will be responsible for managing the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, ROI, RFP and closing of the sale.
The Sales Specialist is expected to create and execute a sales and marketing strategy for a suite of Topcon & Carlson Software landfill solutions to public and private landfill operators utilizing a solutions selling approach as the overall strategy. They will be required to continually develop and manage customer relationships to ensure customers’ expectations are realized.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for prospecting / identifying potential opportunities and closing high value deals.
  • Add customer value by developing a thorough understanding of customer’s business, mission, strategy, operational issues and advising customers on the best product solutions to accomplish their objectives.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by managing and monitoring the sales order process from sales quotation through order acceptance to delivery; assist with installation, training and support after the sale.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities outside of traditional channels
  • On-going account analysis and opportunity tracking
  • Remain current on industry trends, market activities and competitors through research, trade magazines, trade shows, trade organizations, social networking and other resources.
Qualifications: Each successful candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is preferred.
  • 5+ years’s proven experience in the landfill industry.
  • Experience selling 3D or 2D machine control equipment, surveying instruments or GPS products is a plus.
  • Proven track record of account management and sales success.
  • Customer oriented; have a knowledge and understanding of the business culture and culture of the customers, including fluency in the language of the customer.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects, tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Show constant entrepreneurial initiative.
  • Demonstrated success in new account creation and customer-focused problem solving.
  • Exceptional negotiation, project management, organizational, prioritization and planning skills.

You must be willing to receive guidance and direction as you are the primary link to our current and prospective clients. You are expected to provide excellent customer service after the sale (training, support, jobsite pickup and delivery of repairs whenever possible). You are expected to attend monthly sales meetings and provide weekly sales updates to your Manager.

The Inside Sales Specialist is expected to handle all counter sales of Topcon, Sokkia and Futtura brands of general construction lasers and surveying instruments, as well as supplies and accessories to construction contractors, surveying firms, utilities and governmental entities.  You will also make daily telemarketing cold calls, handle all shipping and receiving, answer phones and various clerical and administrative duties as needed.
